A. American Mortgage

Many people may not know it, or simply choose to ignore it, but a large number of underprivileged people, specifically African Americans, and to a larger extent, people of Hispanic origins, have been largely been used to pull loan modification scams, with the underprivileged people receiving the short end of the deal.

This is the latest and fast becoming the preferred mode of fraud by scammers running a crooked loan modification racket everywhere, it would therefore be in the best interest of African Americans and Hispanics to be aware of the particulars involving whatever loan modification deal they are applying for, particularly the person they are talking to regarding the loan modification.

Their modus operandi is deceptively empathetic, persons identifying themselves as representatives of a firm affiliated with the lending firm will approach the person seeking the loan modification and appeal to their desperation, and promise them a huge return if they agree to apply for a loan modification jointly with them, insisting they can make the entire process faster and easier. Before the hapless person applying for the loan modification realizes it, the scammer already has the mortgaged property belonging to the person applying for the loan up on the market, or worse, already sold to an unsuspecting buyer, and the person applying for the loan is stuck with having to pay for the modified loan.

In many cases, the hapless person applying for the loan is left clueless as to what just happened, until they are given the notice for payment of the modified loan. All of this happens as they are still reeling from having to deal with straightening out the mess done by the scammer who put their property for sale. This can prove to be an extremely difficult situation to be in, since the person applying for the loan was already in financial dire straits to begin with, and now their troubles are compounded by the scammer. This is especially true with African American and Hispanic families earning a meager income.

This is why it is essentially important to conduct a research, or at least try to read up on proliferating "financial solutions" supposedly aimed at helping people in need, like a lona modification. At the very least, read the stories and testimonies of people who have already been duped by scammers and learn to identify their hallmark approaches. This will help a person be better aware, and consequently, be forewarned and enlightened when a scammer is trying to pull a fast one on them.
